International Hellenic University

The International Hellenic University (IHU) has its headquarters in Thessaloniki. It was formed by the merger of the International Hellenic University with the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (TEI of Thessaloniki), the Technological Educational Institute of Central Macedonia (TEI of Central Macedonia) and the Technological Educational Institute of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (TEI of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace).

There are two main campuses in the city of Thessaloniki and the university has educational and administrative facilities in eight cities. It is the only public university in the country, where Study Programs are also offered in English. There are 7 Schools with 34 Departments in subjects and fields that meet the requirements of a modern university. IHU includes a University Center for International Programs of Studies based in Thessaloniki, aiming to provide higher education in English to Greeks and foreigners of first, second and third cycle.

Moreover, there are more than 40 institutionalized laboratories and the University offers more than 50 postgraduate study programs (22 in English), some of which are cross-curricular or interdisciplinary. There are also many collaborations with universities and research centers in Greece and abroad while memoranda of cooperation have been signed with academic and social bodies, strengthening its position both in the Greek higher education sector and the European one. The research activity of the university is important and present to all stakeholders, with particular emphasis on national and European financial frameworks. Both active and past research actions  include a number of NSRF projects and INTERREG transnational partnerships as well as European frameworks such as HORIZON 2020 and Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions.

My Company Projects is a dynamic software development company based in Thessaloniki, Greece, with extensive knowledge on online software engineering techniques and experience on highly demanding software projects, just as CRM platforms, Multi-Channel communication solutions and Geoinformatics systems. Their areas of interest extends to Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Big Data and Edge Cloud. The company has significant knowledge in the analysis, design and development of high-demand online applications, using Machine Learning, Big Data and Object- oriented Programming technologies and has all the necessary software tools and infrastructure that will be needed during the proposed work’s development life cycle, just as software IDEs, deployed cloud servers, computer resources and a professional, results-driven team.

My Company Projects considers that continuous and effective research is a key component that contributes to innovation and development. In addition, the company tries actively to contribute to the society, by systematically exploring new technologies and developing innovative tools, products and ways of working and by encouraging staff and partners to think creatively to address their daily challenges. Furthermore, the company has provided services as coordinator and IT infrastructure facilitator for the Balkan Forum conference, organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Northern Greece and has been successful partner in the implementation of the projects “Bioreal” and “ToCulter – Promote tourism and Culture through the water”, both funded under the Interreg Greece – North Macedonia funding facility.

My Company Projects, has been serving the software development sector for more than 10 years, a fact that helped the company form a cutting-edge software development infrastructure and to create a great team of 15 valuable experts, of which 3 are PhD candidates, and 7 hold a master’s degree.  Currently, the company is the leading partner and coordinator of “Treelytics” (project code: Τ2ΕDΚ-03843) and “ZephyrOPS” (project code: Τ2ΕDΚ-00168) projects co‐financed by the European Union and Greek national funds through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, under the call RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE.

University of Craiova

The University of Craiova is the largest university and public institution in SW Romania and one of the high standing higher education institutions in Romania, fostering the professional and personal growth of almost 18000 students. It is classified as a comprehensive university of education and scientific research and it has been ranked among the top 10 Romanian universities in all the national and international classifications in the last 20 years. With more than 1.600 qualified teaching, research and administrative staff, UCV comprises 12 faculties and several research centers. UCV takes pride in its infrastructure (1 main building, 5 university campuses, 11 student halls of residence, 300 lecture theatres and seminar rooms, 255 laboratories, 1 central library and 14 branch libraries, 4 R&D units), as a warrant for the quality of the services provided to its students and to  he community.

UCV is integrated to the academic European community, sharing its cultural, moral, scientific and educational values. It is affiliated with EUA (European University Association), IAU (International Association of Universities), AUF (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie), BSUN (Black Sea Universities Network), etc. The University designs and implements a consistent strategy of inter-institutional cooperation. Thus, UCV has more than 120 Erasmus partners and other 25 international partners from Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America. Furthermore, the University of Craiova is a lasting partner in several international programs (such as LLP Leonardo da Vinci, Erasmus, Fulbright, COST, EURON, Horizon 2020).

The Faculty of Automation, Computers and Electronics is part of University of Craiova and it was founded within the university in 1961. Its main research activities are focused in the areas of control engineering, robotics and ICT. The three departments of faculty (Automation and Electronics, Computers and Information Technology, Robotics and Mechatronics) consist of more than 70 scientists (professors, assistants and PhD students). Current research projects are related to mobile robots for environmental quality control, application of smart materials in robotics, control systems for robots on cooperative tasks, robot control based on vision and AI, telematics applications for robots, applications of adaptive and robust control, nonlinear and intelligent process control, multimedia databases and educational systems. Research topics include mobile robots, path planning, telematics, fuzzy and neural control, nonlinear control, robot vision, pattern recognition, visual surveying, identification, modelling and control of robotic systems, stability and oscillations, control of bioprocesses, time delay systems, multi-agent systems, search and optimization. The faculty also includes 1 research centre titled Interdisciplinary Research CEnteR in Computing, Automation, and Robotics (CERCA) including 3 research laboratories: Computers and Information Technology / CATI, Non-linear Automation and Intelligent Systems – ANSI and Mechatronics & Robotics, structured into several research groups and themes.

Regional center for vocational training and education to CCI – Blagoevgrad

The Regional Center for vocational education and training to CCI – Blagoevgrad has been founded as independent regional structure on the 4th of March 2015. The Associations has been founded to achieve the following goals:

1) Establishment and functioning of a vocational education and training system.

2) Meeting the needs of the Labor market of qualified competitive work force.

3) Access to lifelong learning opportunities.

4) Information and consultation of people about the labor market.

5) Representation of the interests of lifelong learning, professional education and qualifications in front of state, regional and local authorities.

6) Stimulation of employment and reduction of un-employment in economically weak regions.

7) Enhancement of marketing and advertisement activities of its members.

8) Participation in national and international projects and programs.

The RCVET to CCI-Blagoevgrad implemented two projects under the Interreg V-A Greece -Bulgaria 2014-2020 Program:

  1. Project with acronym “EnvironmentYou”, SC No. B2.6d.11/01.07.2019, where they implemented training to 120 participants in the field of Eco business.
  2. Project with Acronym “Social Crafts”, SC No. B2.9c.02/31.10.2017, where they organized two 4-day seminars for 80 participants for social entrepreneurship and implemented consultations for 80 people in the field of social economy and integration in the market of people with disabilities.
